It’s Okay to Not Be Okay

I’m in my 6th week of working from home due to the COVID-19 pandemic. My husband, on the other hand is still reporting to the office daily. For me as an extrovert, being separated from physical interactions with others has been challenging but I’ve managed.

I’ve been attending all the Zoom meetings I can to stay connected as much as possible. Everything was good, until it wasn’t.

Sitting at my desk in my home office working away I began feeling a weight on my chest…

breathing became difficult…

my heart rate increased rapidly…

I began coughing and started feeling lightheaded. So many thoughts raced through my mind. I thought perhaps I had contracted the virus.

As quickly as that thought came another one rushed in letting me know what was really going on. A memory from a couple years ago played in my minds eye from when I had a panic attack because I was heading to the airport to fly to Austin, TX after not being on an airplane for YEARS!

Instantly, I knew it was happening again.

I was having a panic attack.

I thought I was okay. I was believing God for preservation of my health and finances. I did my best to keep a routine. I was showing up and encouraging others. But what my mind wasn’t processing, my body was holding.

It had to come out.

Maybe you’ve cried. Perhaps you’ve broken out in hives. Or sleep has become your best friend. It could be overeating or loss of appetite.

However you are coping, I want you to know it’s okay to not be okay. His strength is made perfect in your weakness.

The best thing to remember is you are not alone. God is ever with you. I also want you to know I’m here to support you. If you need someone to talk to feel free to send me a DM. You can also connect with other kingdom minded individuals who will support and encourage you inside my private Facebook group,¬†Kingdom Purpose Pursuers.

Don’t suffer in silence. That’s what the devil wants. He wants to isolate you so he can ultimately destroy you. Reach out to me or someone else you can trust.

Also, God’s purpose for your life has not been cancelled due to the coronavirus. He was not caught off guard by this situation. There is still a work for you to do in the earth. Be honest about how you feel, persevere in the midst of the struggle and lastly, let your faith be bigger than your fear.

Praying for you in these challenging times.
